I love your therapeutic writing voice and insights. One of my favorite graduate courses taught from the Yalom group text and I have found to be very helpful in thinking about group process. I have no doubt that you are very good at your position. I look forward to reading your posts. Nice post Davida! I love your therapeutic writing voice and insights. I want to add a big "thank you" for directing new graduates to get some real and practical experience! Here in Colorado, I am embarrassed to say that that experience in an agency or other organization is NOT required prior to going into private practice. (It's CRAZY, isn't it?!) The results, as you might expect are many shingles hung out without any real practice experience. I tell all new professionals - "Go get some great supervision and some great experience and plan on hanging that shingle out a few years down the road." Glad to hear you are preaching the same. Happy to find your blog and will be back to visit again! Roia’s tweet just sent me over here to check out your post. Nice post! I recently started bikram yoga and am absolutely certain that it has made me a more grounded and present in my work with others. Even 5 minutes of mindful breathing before seeing a client can remind my body to relax and focus on the present. And every once in a while, Yes! a massage is fantastic!! Thank you for this article.
